Saturday Fun Facts!

Last night, or early this morning, after the game I threw together some interesting facts about the UMD Men's Hockey team and college hockey in general this year.  This is what I came up with...

tUMD Bulldogs:

Both Austin Farley and Tony Cameranesi are averaging 1 point per game.

Tony Cameranesi has the most goals out of any other freshman in the WCHA (8)

UMD has scored 50 goals and allowed 49, breaking the 1.0 ratio last night in the 5-1 win.

Adam Krause leads the Dogs in Penalty minutes with 45, followed by Derik Johnson with 44.

McNeely (+5), Farley (+4), Smith (+4), Casto (+2) and Cameranesi (+2) are the +/- leaders.

Seidel leads the team with 63 shots on net, followed by Cameranesi with 62 then drops to Herbert with 41.

Mike Seidel leads the nation in power play goals with 6.

UMD holds the 5th most powerful power play unit in the nation.

Minnesota Duluth average the second most penalty minutes per game out of all division 1 college hockey teams.

UAA has 1 win in their last 11 games.  The win came against St. Cloud State in November where they won 3-1.

The Beavers have not won a game if they allowed the first goal.  They're 4-1 after scoring first.

Colorado College has only beaten North Dakota in their last 9 games.  Before that stretch they were 7-3.

Denver hasn't found a win in 7 games.  They were 9-1 to start the season.

Michigan Tech's 6-1 loss last night was the worst scoring margin they've dealt with all year.  Tech still has yet to be shutout, though.

Gopher's Tom Serratore will face Air Force, whom his Father Frank coaches, while Don Lucia will host Mario Lucia and the Irish days later.

The Bulldogs are 5-2-1 on Fridays and 0-5-2 on Saturdays.  Thursday and Sunday games combine for 1-1-0.

Minnesota State has won their last 7 games, outscoring opponents 29-9 while averaging 4.14 goals per game over that stretch.

Nebraska Omaha's Ryan Walters is tied with CC's Rylan Schwartz in points with 25, although Walters has played 1 less game.

North Dakota has yet to lose a WCHA game at home this season.  Only home loss this season came to Boston University on 11/3.

St. Cloud State has scored 5 goals or more in 7 games this season.  They've only lost 1 game when scoring 4 or more goals.

Wisconsin's last loss was to Mankato State on 11/24.  Since then they're 3-0-3.  Outscored UAH 9-1 in last series.
