Gophers, meet Aeros.

As we Minnesotans know, The Minnesota Golden Gopher football progrum is down in Houston, Texas right now enjoying life before they give all they got left in the Meineke Car Care Bowl against Texas Tech.

My brother works with the Gopher Football progrum and has been in Houston with the team and staff since Saturday when they loaded the air-cows and flew away from a snowy-christmas down to the rays of Texas.  But, as he skyped the family and myself, he informed us of a little treat that himself and other fellow Minnesotans will have the pleasure of viewing in order to get a little taste of Minnesota while in texas, that being a Houston Aeros game.

(My Brother in gray)

Tomorrow, December 26th, my lucky little brother will venture with some of the staff and players, I would assume, to watch the Houston Aeros host the Texas Stars in the "Guns N Hoses" game.  The first 2,000 fans to arrive early will get Aeros knit caps handed out by the players.  I also believe the team worked with the Aeros to set up a ticket deal as the players enjoy their remaining days in paradise before the bowl game.

So as I flip from channel to channel each night trying to find a hockey game, usually resorting to replay games on NHL Network, my brother gets to sit in Texas and watch Jason Zucker and Justin Fontaine play PROFESSIONAL HOCKEY.  LIVE.

(Justin Fontaine - ex UMD Bulldog)

How many of us have had that chance this year?

Not this guy.

Bahh Humbug.

Well we might as well take a closer look at the game then, it's not to often I get to do this for the Aeros.

Houston Aeros 14-10-1-3
Ranked 4th in the South Division
Ranked 7th in the Western Conference

Led By:
Jason Zucker:  13 goals, 23 points (Former Denver Pioneer)
Justin Fontaine:  8 goals, 21 points (Former UMD Bulldog)
Matt Hackett:  2.64 gaa, .902 save %

Texas Stars 15-9-2-2
Ranked 2nd in the South Division

Led By:
Cody Eakin:  8 goals, 19 points

I think the bottom line here is the Aeros will win and I am very, VERY jealous.
