Green Bay Gamblers at Indiana Ice Preview

I have the utmost pleasure of treating my girlfriend (and myself) to an Indiana Ice game while I'm here staying at Ball State in Indiana.  Indiana will be hosting the Green Bay Gamblers, and although there will be zero tUMD recruits, much talent will be seen on the ice this coming Friday night in Banker's Life Fieldhouse.

I called ahead to double check with administration and they did say I could bring my camera in, so expect pictures of Austin Ortega (Ice - Nebraska Omaha), Brian Morgan (Ice - Maine), Kyle Novak (Gamblers - Western Michigan), Alex Kile (Gamblers - Michigan), Jordan Gross (Gamblers - Notre Dame), and Nick Schmaltz (Gamblers - North Dakota).

Of course I went ahead and did a couple statistical layouts so I could figure out who do watch for as well as who would most likely pull away with the "W".  This is what I came up with...

Obviously we have a little bit of talent on the ice right?  It's going to be a fun game to go to, and it will be my first USHL game!  I've been meaning to see the Fargo Force but there's this thing called school and money that seem to get in the way.

Trevor Olson, Former Duluth East Greyhound, is #11 on Green Bay which does give a little Minnesota Presence.  Aaron Crandall, Keegan Flaherty, and USHL defenseman of the year Andy Welinkski all played for Green Bay at some point.

Other names you may or may not recognize that played for the Ice are Nic Dowd, Torey Krug, and Ben Blood.  Former Gamblers you may know consist of William Rapuzzi, Steve Summerhays, Anders Lee, Adam Wilcox, and Nick Jensen to name a few.

Anyway, should be a good game!  Definitely looking forward to experiencing hockey in the state of basketball.

Here's a first...

GO ICE!!!
