Friday Rewind

The University of Minnesota Duluth shuts out Michigan Tech 1-0, Matt McNeely with his first collegiate shutout.

Well, I didn't exactly predict this I guess...

The Bulldogs earn the shutout victory at home against the yellow Huskies without Austin Farley, Cody Danberg, and Wade Bergman.  Turns out, Andy Welinski did play which obviously contributed to the success of this team.

I was out and about during the game at an Indiana Ice game so I didn't get to catch it or listen, but folks like RWD and DHG kept my twitter feed fed.

Joe Basaraba tallied tUMD's only goal of the game, his sixth of the year, from Max Tardy late in the second period.  The rest of the game was grinding battle, so i'm told.  Surprisingly enough the Dogs only took 4 penalties for 8 minutes and went 0 for 4 on the power play, which continues to struggle.

Puck drops at the same time tonight.  Here is what happened around the WCHA and other relevant games...

Michigan Tech 0 at Minnesota Duluth 1
Colorado College 4 at North Dakota 3
Wisconsin 4 at Minnesota State 3 OT
Alaska Anchorage 3 at Minnesota 4
Nebraska Omaha 4 at Denver 7
