Caleb Herbert Signs With Washington Capitals

The junior forgoes his senior year and signs with the Washington Capitals after successful career at the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Junior center Caleb Herbert, a Minnesota native, has chosen to leave UMD, signing with the NHL's Washington Capitals.

Herbert, who scored 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points in the Bulldogs' 36 games this season, was drafted in 2010 by the Caps as the 142nd overall pick.

The 5-foot-11, 185 pound center will report to Washington's AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, as he has sighed a two-year ELC beginning next season.

Herbert's presence will be missed on the ice...  Both his physical presence and ability to score and create scoring chances.  Best of luck to him as the future looks bright.
